Last week I worked more remotely than usual, in southwest France, while dog-sitting for a friend. (Note to self: 5 dogs is really rather a lot. REALLY.)
Friend Jane’s village is tiny and lovely, full of old stone houses, and surrounded by many equally lovely villages that are great for exploring, walking and wandering, and, of course, wine-tasting! This is the Minervois wine region, which produces some excellent and affordable wines.
Village houses front the street, I do mean the street, which could be problematic in rush hour, but see below for an example of same.
I was invited to a vineyard luncheon set up by Wendy Gedney, a fantastically talented and energetic wine teacher and all-around enthusiast for the region. It was like something out of a dream, exactly the sort of thing one might think we do all the time in la belle France.
We took our own place settings.
A really fun event in a beautiful spot.
More anon—from France!
I adore those curtains!
Sounds fabulous. A life we'll lived - perhaps minus FIVE dogs.
